Words are very powerful. Words can brighten up your day or they can destroy it. You’d be surprised that that is not new but rather it has been around since the Bible times. This post is a revisiting of a previous post. See it here. It simply feels like a good topic to talk about and add a Bible twist to it. Whatever comes from the mouth or mind, comes from the heart and we all know that whatever comes from the heart is as true as it can get.
20 And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. 21 For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, 22 coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness 23 All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.” – Mark 7:20-23
Nothing can get any clearer than that. It’s already the Bible that explains it but think about it. Doesn’t your day get better when someone gives you a heartfelt complement and doesn’t it just ruin your day when someone says something hurtful? Words are a big deal. Even if you believe in “Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me.”, deep down inside you still get hurt even a little, it still affects us.
